But unfortunately, this weekend, the weather decided that it's been too dry in these parts lately - and as a result, we had clouds and rain.  A little too dreary to go hiking.

We decided to take a drive to the top of Bellayre to look at the clouds in the valley.  What a sight we had.  There were dark storm clouds dancing around the hills and dales.  And in between rain drops, I got out my Nikon and started to take some time lapse sequences.  I was able to capture about 20-25 sec of time lapse in two locations - one at the top of Bellayre as previously mentioned, and the other by the banks of the Esopus Creek, the main waterway that drains the mountains.

I'll be posting these sequences in the TIME LAPSE area later today.  Let me know what you think.

To Every Journey, There is a First Step https://www.luminantpix.com/blog/2017/3/to-every-journey-there-is-a-first-step To Every Journey, There is a First Step!

Welcome to the Luminant Pix Blog.  Today, March 26, 2017 marks the launch of our site and our adventure into commercial photography. My wife and I are both avid artists.  She uses oil paints to capture the world and what she sees, while I use a lens and a CMOS sensor.  Together, we collectively have been doing this for nearly two lifetimes.  For the past 6 years, she's been telling me that we should start a photography website to compliment her oil painting site, Liron.com.  This is our effort at that.

One of the things that I love about photography is that it can bring you back to any moment in life - be it a vacation, a family function, or just some peaceful afternoon.  Likewise, it can also bring you back to war, famine and destruction.  It can capture emotions like a winning goal, or it can make your remember the birth of you child. It captures the feelings and the light of a given experience.

That being said, it is only one of 5 senses, albeit a powerful one.

In this site, we hope to bring you extraordinary photography for both your enjoyment and your uses.  I'll blog from time to time about a given shoot to help give perspective on the subject, the technique and perhaps a tip or two.  Do keep coming back.  There will often be new work on a regular basis.

Thanks for stopping by!

Steve & Liron
